This year, we at Fristam celebrate the 100^th birthday of Heinz Stamp, our former Managing Director who shaped Fristam into a global leader in hygienic stainless-steel pumps. His vision and leadership transformed us from a Hamburg-based dairy machinery manufacturer into one of the most respected names in hygienic pump technology worldwide.

From Dairy Machinery to Hygienic Pump Technology
We began in Hamburg in 1909 producing dairy machinery. In 1931, we built our first stainless steel pump — a milestone that made the Fristam name synonymous with German engineering excellence in hygienic fluid handling.

Heinz Stamp’s Vision: From Hamburg to the World
After the Second World War, Heinz Stamp took leadership of Fristam and expanded our horizons far beyond Hamburg. During his time as Managing Director. Two defining milestones under his leadership set the course for our global success:

• Fristam launched our first positive displacement pumps in the 1950’s – this opened new opportunities beyond the dairy industry – as Fristam branched out into the food, beverage, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals sectors.
• Fristam founded our first international subsidiary in the United States in the 1970’s – This brought Hamburg engineering expertise to the global stage.

Through his leadership, Heinz Stamp ensured that our values of quality, reliability, and innovation were recognised both in Hamburg and around the world.

Our Hamburg Heritage, Our Global Future

Today, those same values remain at the heart of who we are. We continue to honour our Hamburg roots while expanding internationally, with production sites in Germany, India, and China, as well as a growing network of subsidiaries.

As we celebrate both the 100th birthday of Heinz Stamp and our 116th company anniversary in 2025, we reflect with pride on our journey — from our beginnings in dairy machinery to becoming a trusted global partner in hygienic pumps and mixing & blending technology.
