FP

Centrifugal Pump

Universally used, modifiable to suit any process.

The Fristam FP centrifugal pump is the industry benchmark for hygienic processing.

Experience a new level of hygienic pumping with Fristam FP pumps! Our innovative open-impeller design, combined with precision-engineered narrow gaps and a flow-optimized channel, delivers:

  • Unrivalled Durability: Crafted from robust 316L stainless steel castings and forgings, the FP withstands even the toughest conditions, including vacuum withdrawal, high temperatures, and abrasive products.
  • Extended Seal Life: Our unique internal seal design leverages product cooling and lubrication for exceptional longevity.
  • Maximum Efficiency: Tight internal clearances (as low as 0.35 mm) ensure high efficiency and gentle product handling.
  • Optimized Performance: The impeller’s optimized vane angle minimizes NPSH requirements and maximizes efficiency. A uniquely engineered, fully open sanitary impeller design, combined with high efficiency and ultra-low NPSH values ensures optimal performance.
  • Smooth and Silent Operation: Experience quiet and reliable performance, even under heavy loads.
  • Superior Efficiency: Minimize energy consumption while maximizing performance.
  • Gentle Product Handling: Preserve the integrity of even the most delicate products, even at high flow rates.

Fristam FP Centrifugal Pumps on WFI (Water for Injection) Applications:

Fristam pumps play a critical role in the most advanced systems for generating, storing, and distributing Water for Injection (WFI) and Purified Water (PW) used in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

Made from forged stainless steel with ultra-low ferrite content (≤5%, down to ≤1% for specific uses), these pumps offer superior durability and reliability. A surface finish of Ra ≤ 0.4 µm on all product-contacting parts is verified through rigorous multi-zone testing. Additionally, all models are available in ATEX-certified versions, ensuring safe operation in explosive atmospheres.

To ensure compliance with strict industry standards, Fristam pumps can be supplied with the following certifications:

  • Material certification (3.1 according to DIN EN 10204)
  • Ferrite content analysis
  • FDA / EG 1935/2004 / USP Class VI compliance
  • Surface roughness validation for product-contacting parts
  • Electropolishing, passivation, and pickling certifications
  • Complete material traceability: including chemical analysis performed directly on the material batch
  • Fully certified welding on flanges and connections: ensures both quality and traceability of the filler materials used
  • Radiographic inspection of welded joints
  • Noise level testing across the performance curve
  • Impeller balancing tests
  • Hydrostatic pressure leak tests
  • Performance testing across the operating curve

Pharmaceutical Options

Fristam centrifugal pumps feature stainless steel components made from 316L as standard. Specialized castings are available in low-ferrite stainless steel or high-performance alloys like Hastelloy® and AL-6XN®. For pharmaceutical applications, USP Class VI elastomers come standard, with perfluoro elastomers as an option. Seal materials include silicon carbide, chrome oxide-coated stainless steel, and carbon. Most products can be electropolished and finished to an internal surface roughness of 15 Ra. Casing drain and mounting options ensure full drain-ability, essential for maintaining long-term system cleanliness. Additionally, pumps are designed for steam-in-place sterilization without the need for external cooling devices. Learn more about Fristams Pharmaceutical options here.

Long Seal Life

Fristam’s innovative internal seal is designed to utilize the product itself for cooling and lubrication, extending its lifespan significantly. Even in demanding conditions, the FP Fristam Centrifugal Pump seals often last for years.
